Working with us takes away the need for an independent wedding and event planner because your payment to us covers both aspects. This leaves more money for the things that really matter- your event day.
Absolutely! We will handle things as much or as little as you like. We make sure to ask you what you really want before making any decisions on your behalf. If we think something else might work better for you, we will make our suggestions and work with you to come up with the best possible solution.
Designed by Nelle is a full service, wedding and event planning company. This is definitely not a pastime interest for us. It is what we are passionate about and find joy in everyday. We make your wedding process fun, relaxing and enjoyable; just as it should be. Creating a beautiful one of a kind design is important, but ensuring our couples have a completely stress free experience is at the top of all our priorities.
We accept cash, check, wire transfer and direct deposit payments. We do need an initial nonrefundable down payment to reserve your wedding date in our calendar. We will then put together a payment schedule that works best for you with all final payments being needed 30 days before your event date.
I would say almost anyone would be our client. We have worked with clients from all walks of life and at every planning stage. Our ideal client, though, would preferably be the type looking to take the advice of a professional and is seriously interested in dropping the reigns and enjoying the moment. We are very flexible in our thinking, but I have to say- if you are a person who is a complainer, whiner and generally pessimistic, then maybe we are not the best fit for each other. I thrive on positivity and always prefer to work with people who are like-minded.
We do not. We feel it always works out better when you focus on one client at a time. Your day is not just important to you, it is also very important to us. We give each client our undivided attention during their events and feel that is the best way to ensure every wedding or event gets the Designed by Nelle touch.
Reserving your date with us is a simple process: Once we have a moment to decide on your event needs, we will email you your contract and design proposal for review and signature. Once the contract is signed and we have agreed on all necessary terms, a non-refundable deposit would be needed to reserve your event's date and our services.
We know this is a constant question on the minds of many couples planning their big day. Understand that dates are limited, especially in recent times because you are competing with clients who have had to cancel their travel and event plans due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. So I would say don't wait too long to book your date and designer. We work with a 2 year calendar, so adding your date way in advance with us is not a problem at all. We are currently taking booking for late 2021 into 2022, so if you are looking at a date in that year, feel free to reach out to check our availability.
Your venue coordinator is not a dedicated worker, focused completely on your wedding or event day and your specific needs. They are most likely handling many clients during the months and weeks leading up to your event, and in some cases, even having to juggle between multiple weddings and events on the same day. Which means they may not be very attentive to all the little details that would be so very important to you. The point is this: the venue wedding coordinator is there to serve the interested of the venue whilst a wedding coordinator is there to focus on you, your wedding and everything you need for a successful event on that day.
Saint Lucia does not have a residency period, so this allows marriage licenses to be obtained within 24 hours of arrival via a same day marriage license application. For persons interested in a regular marriage license, the couple is required to be in Saint Lucia two days prior to their wedding. We will verify all needs during the planning process, as laws and requirements are always subject to change.

Yes you absolutely can afford this. Did you know the average couple spends over 200 hours planning their wedding? Yikes! Couple that with a full-time job, kids, housework and trying to have a social life, you are basically talking about having no personal down time in the hopes of planning the perfect island getaway. This can be even more difficult when dealing with trying to get answers and organize planning for your event from thousands of miles away.

While the legal formalities require completion before sundown, yes, wedding ceremonies can be performed at night. This would mean the signing of all legal paperwork during the day and the wedding ceremony at night. I have not yet had the pleasure of planning one of these weddings, but am still hoping to come across a client daring enough to try it.
Alternatively, getting married at sunset is an amazing experience which is definitely worth it in Saint Lucia and within 'daytime' parameters.
Unfortunately, our legal system has not yet caught up with the progress the world has made in this area - but we can't wait for the day when it does because we are ready and anxious to work with all of you. As legislation continues to be adapted, we hope to see this revised to allow for all you beautiful couples to come to Saint Lucia and make lots of amazing memories here.
Although Saint Lucia is a beautiful sunny island paradise most of the time, unfortunately we do have to deal with rain and inclement weather conditions. We can't, by any means, control the weather but we can guide you regarding the dates for our rainy season to help you plan accordingly. If you are interested in hosting an outdoor event, it definitely is worth understanding that the possibility or rain is always there in Saint Lucia. If that is a deciding factor for you which you just don't want to deal with then we recommend definitely planning your event with an indoor location as the host.
Yes, we do however that would be dependent on the hotel or resort you choose to host your event. I recommend speaking with the hotel Events Manager to confirm their ability to accommodate an outside designer. If they do, we would be happy to work with you.
Yes we do, although we have never had a reason to enforce it. We have arranged our payment terms in a way which allows our clients to make the bulk of their payment towards the very end of time period (1month) before having to leave for Saint Lucia to host their events. You have to admit, it's a rare situation when a client chooses to change their mind about traveling less than 4 weeks before they are scheduled to do so.
However, in the event a client chooses to cancel their trip to Saint Lucia or their planned event while here, once it is done before this time there is no additional charge incurred. If cancellation occurs outside of this window a fee of US$250.00 would be applied by us to cover any outstanding expenses which may not have been previously paid. Any payments made to service providers, vendors or venues are non-refundable.
